About Athy Further Education
and Training Centre

The Further Education and Training Centre Athy is a KWETB multiservice FET centre delivering education and training courses adults and youth learners, utilising the following services VTOS, Youthreach, BTEI and Adult Basic Education, ESOL and the Adult Educational Guidance Service. Both full time and part time students are catered for in the building, with approx. 90 full time students and 150/200-part time students.  The centre is open from 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 4pm on Friday.

The centre re-opens on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for part time courses from 6pm - 9pm, times may vary.

Activities that take place in the building include education and training activities for youth and adult learners, and may include the following subject areas; General Learning, Literacy, ESOL, Non Formal Learning, and vocational training including Woodwork, Construction, Tiling, Art, Catering, Computer Systems and Networks, Business, Healthcare, Childcare, Social Studies and Computer Studies.

Our staff are very experienced and are experts in supporting adult learners and young people return to education and training.

Our support services

As part of our courses we offer a range of student supports including adult career guidance, counselling supports, laptop loan scheme for disadvantaged learners, support for childcare though MyGov.ie, study spaces, supports to learners with disabilities. We are an equal opportunities education provider.
